I have a Yamaha electronic keyboard model PSR225GM. When I attempted to unplug the power supply from the outlet the box it was housed in came apart in my hand. This is very similar to a recall Yamaha had on a similar power unit for a different model of keyboard. If I had been less careful when the box came apart, if I were a child for example, I would have grabbed the unit that remained plugged into the outlet and received a life threatening electrical shock. The wall adapter I got with the keyboard was marked "Lo Duca" as the manufacturer. It appears identical to the earlier recall even though it doesn't carry the Yamaha brand on it.
The consumer turned on the keyboard to play or practice music. After 5 minutes the keyboard started to emit an odor from the inside. It smelled like a new product was heating up from the inside out. The odor made the consumer sick after he used the key board for about 30 to 45 minutes. The keyboard cost thousands of dollars and the consumer cannot buy another one for now. The consumer is a musician and the keyboard is his work instrument, so he has had to continue using it. This happens every time he uses the keyboard. (2/2014) The consumer contacted the manufacturer and their rep. (name unknown) told him to take it back to the authorized service provider. The consumer took it to the service provider (retailer) around February 10, 2014. The service provider kept it for about two weeks and they said it was fine. When the consumer turned it back on the same smell started to come out. He called Rhythm City in Jackson Mississippi and they call the manufacturer. The manufacturers rep. said the model has been discontinued and they will not provide a replacement. The consumer believes that the odor from the keyboard makes him sick and presents a safety hazard. The consumer did not specify the type of symptoms he experienced. NOTE: The consumer may add some additional details when he receives the report. Fumes from multi engine Korg Kronos 61 workstation comes out of unit and makes consumer sick.

I purchased a product from Yamaha which included a product stand, the product stand on assembly wobbles because the "tabs" are uneven. There is a high center of gravity and the product is unstable and can injury. When I contacted Yamana Support and started receiving emails from[REDACTED] his first reply was trying to blame the store that sold me the Yamana product, the next reply blame me for wrong assembly, however the product is defective, there is no customer adjustment for the uneven tabs, it is shipped to customers as an unsafe product. The photo on the Yamana website shows the product with even tabs, Yamana so far will not offer to recall the product. Selling an unsafe product happens, refusing to fix the issue is a public safety issue.
