My daughter who is a perfectly healthy 38-year-old female decided to buy a Fitbit to monitor different things in her body. She bought the Fitbit and put it on and the very next night she began to have panic attacks which shes never had before. She had so many of them that she needed to be hospitalized for eight days. It is week three now and she continues to have a racing heart and her whole life has been turned upside down. She finally realized, after she kept waking up during the night, and feeling very fatigued and just generally ill, that she finally started looking into the Fitbit and found numerous responses from people and how this item is affecting them. It seems more than a coincidence that she has become ill after wearing this for an extended period of time. She finally removed it from her and had a decent nights sleep but she continues to have a racing heart incident at least twice a day. Although it may seem coincidental, she has been completely healthy, and all of her tests on her body organs have come back positive, but the problem now seems to be something in her brain is not firing right. We are fully convinced that this item has done something to her, and I am asking that you look into this because numerous people have put down their experiences which have been very bad ones. Please if you can investigate what this item is doing to people and possibly have it taken off the market. Thank you and I hope this issue can be resolved so other people dont have to go through this
I have developed a rash from wearing my Fitbit charge 2. It looks like a burn.
Watch is leaving a red burn mark on my wrist.
Rash on wrist caused by band. Slowly going away. 6-Days so far, and rash is not totally gone.
I puchased a BlackWeb brand Replacement Fitbit band from Walmart in DeRidder, Louisiana. I have worn it for a while, of course taking it off at night and when I shower/do dishes. On 28 September my wrist began to get itchy and red. I took the watch off, and it stopped. I worn it again the next day and half way through the day had to take it off because it was itching and burning. I have a horrid rash on my wrist where the band touches my skin. Note that it is not where the Fitbit device touches the top of my wrist. Ive reached out to walmart to no avail. I see on the package that this product is made in China, and I do not believe it is safe for everyday use. I have to wait until 2 Oct to see my doctor because the rash will not stop burning.
I purchased a Fitbit Charge2 tracker. It leaves a severe rash my wrists.
I have owned Garmin fitness watches for perhaps as many 4 years (Vivoactive HR since 2018 & Vivoactive 4 since 2020-- the Vivoactive HR was replaced twice for issues unrelated to the medically related one addressed in this complaint). "When did this happen" goes back about 3.5 years, <one year after I purchased my first Garmin, the Vivoactive HR. "Where" this happened was whenever/wherever the watch was on my wrist -- either wrist following the first 4 mos - 1 yr.
What happened that made you want to report? While wearing the fitbit it began to be painful and irritated. The fitbit was removed to reveal a burn like skin reaction. What type of product(s) were being used? Fitbit Ace3 Who was using the product(s)? A 7 year old girl How were the product(s) being used? The product was being used in it's typical design intent manor. The consumer had previously used the product for approximately 8 months without prior issue. Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? Yes, the wrist area that comes in contact with the back of the Fitbit was injured. How did any injuries occur? It is unclear what the true root cause of the injury was, however the skin damage is precisely in the shape of the area that the Fitbit was contacting so it appears very obvious to be caused by some interaction between the skin and Fitbit.
