I am writing regarding an order placed on August 25, 2025, through my Amazon Prime account: a 3-wheel electric bike for my wife. Upon receiving and assembling the bike, it became immediately clear that the product is unsafe for use. The bike accelerates on its own without user control, creating a serious risk of injury. For this reason, the product does not meet basic consumer safety standards. On the same day, I submitted a return and refund request through Amazon system, fully explaining the issue. Following Amazons instructions, I disassembled the bike, repacked it securely in the original box, and attached the provided return labels. I now kindly request that Amazon arrange pickup of the box from my home address (the original delivery location), as it is not possible to transport such a large and heavy package by myself. Despite following all procedures, Amazon closed the case without explanation, refusing both the refund and the product pickup. This is unacceptable. I expect a full refund to be processed immediately and the bike to be collected from my home without further delay. Please note that if this matter is not resolved promptly and satisfactorily, my next step will be to file a formal safety complaint with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), as this product represents a clear hazard to consumers. I trust that Amazon will uphold its commitment to customer safety and satisfaction and handle this matter with urgency. Thank you for your immediate attention.
My son was riding a Ridstar Q20 Lite bike and the front wheel fell off. The wheel was installed per the instructions and follow up instructional video, which I believe to be incorrect because the wheel retainer is not put into the axle in the instructions. Update 8/7/2025: Id like to add to the subject report that my son received 4 stitches for a laceration received when his face skid across the pavement after the front wheel fell off of his Ridstar Q20 lite while traveling approximately 15 mph. The instructions to assemble the front wheel of the bike arent just unclear. I think theyre actually wrong. Im an engineer with a professional engineering license. In my professional opinion, I believe there is a high likelihood that a child will die when the front wheel comes off of a bike traveling at close to top speed. It will happen despite the fact that their parents installed the front wheel in accordance with the instructions.
I purchased an Lectric Branded E Trike from a third party. When we arranged for the test drive and purchase the odometer didn't even register a mile on it because this cute 81 year old man bought it for his dying wife who was unfortunately never able to drive it more than a short distance. By the time we finished test driving it and agreed to buy it, the odometer registered one mile. It's a beautiful trike. I was so excited to be able to take it out on rides with my husband. Our first couple of journeys we stayed close to home and took shorter rides while I got used to the trike and using the peddle assist feature. On the third ride we took the trike out on an almost 12 ride on a paved bike path on along a river. The trike nearly tipped twice on me. The first time I hit a rock with the front wheel and the second time I tried to drive over an item that I could not navigate around. I was going slow enough that I was able to slide off the seat and stand to stabilize the trike. The last trip we were on a different section of the paved bike path and went on a 17 mile journey. I was using the peddle assist and traveling between 10-11 mph when I came upon a root from a nearby tree that had grown under the asphalt and caused a slight buckle in the path. I didn't see it in time. I wasn't able to stop in time to avoid it. I took a slight turn and the trike ended up toppling over on top of me. At any rate of speed and a slight turn the trike is unstable. The end result of that accident was a trip to the Urgent Care facility with a fractured elbow. I have bone fragments still floating near my elbow and remain in pain nearly a month later. I love the idea of this trike. I love that I'm able to ride with my husband. I just want a stable and reliable ride. I've tried emailing the manufacturer of the trike multiple times trying to discuss with them ways that I can stabilize the trike so that I can continue to ride it but the only thing they want to tell me is t
My father was in an accident on Tuesday, Nov 30, 2021. He was riding a Liberty electric trike made by Electric Bike Technologies (https://www.libertytrike.com/). He was practicing using the trike in his senior residence parking lot. He was practicing a low speed U-turn and was thrown off the bike due the bike's unstable design with high center a of mass and narrow track width. He hit his head on a parked car and fell to the ground with the bike on top of him. He was immediately paralyzed with a C4 spinal cord injury. He was hospitalized for weeks and died from his injuries on February 7, 2022. In the attachments, you will find other individuals who are consumers of the Liberty Trike (LT)who have been severely injured. One is a spreadsheet summary of the individuals, their injuries and their contact information titled CPSC Index (please email for electronic copy as this is meant to be viewed as a spreadsheet). Another document (LT Trike Accidents) was made from screenshots from the [REDACTED] page Liberty Trike operates ([REDACTED]) indicating the extent of injuries other consumers have suffered. Additionally, I am attaching a study conducted by a mechanical engineering consultant. Please contact the engineer directly with any questions regarding the research he conducted.
After paying to assemble this tricycle the tech mentioned that pedals were too close to wheels and indeed, it were so close that the only way to ride the bike is if you don't pedal at all! Front wheel turning by it self, this can cause an accident when riding. Back wheels too close to pedals that hit rider feet. This is a product recall. Not safe for consumers, specially when kids with autism and older adults use it for "stability " as advertised in the website
