Riding my road bike when my right KéO Bicycle Pedal sheared off and causing me to wreck on the road. No head injury noted but right hip had road rash and tail bone area bruised. [REDACTED] bike substain to nicks on right rear triangle and dent in left shifter.
Bicycle crank's adhesive failed and the crank was on the verge of separating from the bike.
I purchased and used Stop-A-Flat Puncture Proof Thorn-resistant No-flat Bicycle Tube. I bought them on Amazon so I don't know the manufacturer. These inserts do not allow the same cushion as air inflated tires. This results on all the energy of impact to be focused on one area. This results in the rim of the wheel to be come bent, cracked, and damaged beyond repair. This can cause a catastrophic collapse of the wheel and user injury.
My gt grade alloy tiagra road bike has incompatible parts. I purchased the bike 3 weeks ago brand new assembled from the store and have had it tuned up at the same store 3 times since purchase. I was riding the bike down hill and while braking I noticed the front wheel shaking violently and making loud metal noises. I went home to inspect the bike and noticed that there was hardly any clearance between the front wheel spokes and the brake caliper. In fact the spokes hit the caliper while spinning the wheel. I did some research and the problem is not uncommon. I contacted the brake manufacture (trp brakes) and showed them pictures. They said they were aware of the potential safety issues and that it only happens with their brakes in combination with specific hubs. When I told them I purchased the bike like this they were shocked (exact words were "yikes, you bought the bike like that" in reference to the hub and brake combination). Trp told me they sold spacers to fix this issue. My concern is that gt bicycles chose all these parts for this bike model and sells as is and that seems like a major oversight. I have stopped riding my bike and contacted gt bicycles in the mean time.
I had a chance to inspect FOUR bicycle helmets Lazer G1 Mips, and ALL had faults that are safety concerns. I first purchased the helmet Lazer G1 Mips (size M, black) from an online vendor ( biketiresdirect.com). The received helmet had a safety issue as there was a cut in the foam with no ability to see how deep the cut was. After seeing the pictures, Lazer customer support told me to exchange it. The second helmet that I received had the same cut in the foam. I decided to get a refund from the vendor and order from Lazer directly. The third helmet I received was even more unsafe as the tightening mechanism (on this helmet called the rollsys system) did not work. An inexperienced user would have not known that it is unsafe to wear a helmet that way. Lazer told me to destroy it and sent me another helmet, now the fourth one. This one was even worse in terms of safety because the inner plastic structure that goes around the head was not fully attached to the remaining parts of the helmet. Upon closer inspection it turned out that a plastic triangular actor point that is normally located in the foam was completely missing in one part of the helmet. In other words, 100% construction error. Again, an inexperienced rider would have not noticed and would have worn a very unsafe helmet where the foam and outer shell were not even fully attached to the system that goes around the rider's head. In case of a crash, this helmet would have been barely better than not wearing a helmet at all.
The handlebar on my bicycle suddenly snapped without warning and I crashed to the ground, dislocating two fingers.
My daughter was cut off while riding her bike. The visor on her helmet partially broke off and stabbed her in the head, requiring a trip to the emergency room. If it had hit any lower it would have hit her in the eye.
