Frieling French press- 44 oz. The handle detached from the pot and the pot crashed to the floor. Fortunately the press was empty at the time. It it was full of hot coffee it caused have caused an injury.
On Thursday September 6, 2012 I was using a COPCO Fusion tea kettle to boil water to make a cup of coffee using a single cup [REDACTED] filter cone. When the kettle boiled (it whistles slightly) I picked it up and tipped the kettle when the whistle mechanism "jammed" causing steam pressure to build up which popped the lid off. My 4th finger on the right hand (which wraps around the handle to hold it) was severely burned by the steam that rose out of the kettle.
Le Creuset Tea kettle constantly splashes boiling water wildly from the spout after heating water to boil. It doesnt seem to matter how high or low the burner is (I have tested on both gas and glass stovetops) or if I hang the spout far off the burner or not. I, a healthy and physically coordinated person have this occur whenever I hear water for my coffee, tea, ramen, etc. I have not been injured but I can see massive potential for injury, especially if someone with muscle weakness, dull reaction time, tremor, or any similar impairment attempts to use this kettle.
I bought a 4 litter tea kettle from Golden Star Imports Inc., which had a thick base (kettle's base, a thick layer of a metal, and another sheet of metal on top of that). Last night after half an hour when I understood that the kettle has ran out of water, I wanted to put it on the counter, the outer sheet of metal fell on the counter while the thick layer of metal, which was lead, was completely melted and dripping on the counter. Thanks God it didn't drip on my foot because it would have melted my foot all the way to the bone. Is it safe to make the base of a kettle which will obviously be in direct contact with hot stove elements with Lead which its melting point is about 621? I know that the kettle had no water for about half an hour, but this should not happen to a kettle or they should have a warning that says if you leave it on stove without water for half an hour the bottom part of the kettle can melt and create very dangerous situation.
GROSCHE Monaco Glass Teapot is the product that Im reporting. The teapots handle broke while I was pouring hot tea, it shuddered and hot tea spilled everywhere. I had a throw in top of me that saved me from the burns, but a piece of glass cut me deep in the side of my ankle. I handled the teapot with care and it wasnt damaged or anything before the incident! I believe its the design and craftsmanship that caused the handle to break and therefore the unfortunate accident to happen. I hope you recall this product and look into anything similar to ensure other people wont get hurt! The cut was deep enough to frighten me, and Im glad it didnt hit a major artery, otherwise I would have ended up in an emergency room. I always handled the teapot with care and only used it 3 or 4 times. It wasnt damaged before the incident.
I set my Martha Stewart Collection® Enameled Steel Tea Kettle on the stove on a high setting about half full of water. I became distracted and returned about 30 minutes later to find the kettle miscolored, the red paint had adhered to the stove and the handle was deformed. Upon researching the product, I realized it had been recalled last year for problems with the handle.
Using tea kettle to boil water the front part of top handle gets extremely hot when you try to pour out the water. Numerous times I have burned my right fingers.
I bought a French press at an IKEA in CT & was preparing to use today. Started to wash it & the glass broke, giving me a cut in my wrist.
