I was simply using my snap on ratchet straps to pull shrubs out of my garden and the strap snapped and went through the back window of my truck into the front window breaking them both and almost taking my head off
In October 2021, I secured several radiator covers with Bebe Earth anti-tip straps. Today I noticed that the webbing had disintegrated.
my company purchased 6 Performax ratchet straps that are rated at 3300lbs from Menards and then we tied a load down of about 1000lbs and each one, all 6 broke, they just snapped at the hooks. we examined the metal of the hooks (this is a machine shop) and it looked like weak castings were used instead of the proper hardened steel. if we had been on the road when those failed its likely we could have killed someone. I feel there needs to be a recall of this product, they are dangerous. i did contact Menards and they just gave me the standard sorry you were disappointed email.
Furniture straps failed with minimal force
UPC 022697119179 Attwood Corp. Kayak suspension straps. I had the Kayack hanging from the ceiling with the product. The plastic cynch portion of the snap buckle failed. The whole kayak fell seven feet onto the floor. Had a person been under it for some reason they could have been seriously injured or killed. This product is rated to hold a 100 U.S. lb kayack from the ceiling. It failed with a 48lb kayak.
I was hauling a 100# Propane tank held by 2 of the Straps upright and crossing a Railroad crossing I looked back and saw the strap on the top sag down. I pulled over and found the ratchet had broken and would not tighten. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had not noticed it that quickly...
(06/01/2023) The consumer has a safety concern about the product. The consumer works at a health facility. The straps have been in place for about two years. The consumer went to move and item. When she pulled on the strap just a little, the strap ripped. (multiple straps ripped, can tear w/ bare hands) The consumer has a video and pictures of the product.
A furniture wall mount broke is said to be earthquake resistant and our not even 20lbs baby was underneath shelving because it did not withstand him barely pulling it
