Fire on the outside of my house. The battery [REDACTED] (Type R) caught fire. The fire was intense and since the battery was mounted below a 2nd story porch, the fire moved along the outside of the house and caused a lot of damage. The battery was installed with a new inverter from SolarEdge in Jan 2019. The battery was configured to be used in time of use mode which would charge and discharge each day to allow the solar power to be used after the sun went down.
Fronius solar array power inverter box, installed by NovaSolar, Inc., and attached to the electric grid by [REDACTED], burned up from the inside and also damaged the outside of our home. There were no injuries, but there might have been if the inverter box had been installed inside our home.
Large sheets of ice form on Tesla solar panels and slide off the roof injuring people down below. Additionally, falling sheets of ice caused damage to gutter systems.
Consumer stated that his solar power inverter caught fire at his home. The consumer stated that he got the product from the original firm in a Warning Exchange from March 4, 2004. The original firm went out of business and was bought by another company. The consumer called the manufacturer (the new firm) on March 31, 2011. The firm offered a case number and said they would get back in contact with him. The consumer had to get back in contact with them April 2, 2011 since he never was contacted. That same day he was told they would call him back but never did. The consumer is not sure if was in March or April of this year but he called the firm and they told him they would offer to sell him the same product that caught fire at a discounted price. The consumer put out the smoke by disconnecting the power to the solar inverter and the smoke timed itself out. The product was mounted on to the wall of a shop building outside of his barn. The product scorched the backside of the barn where the steel cage meets the wall of the barn. The power inverter has melted on the interior. The consumer was not harmed by the product. The consumer has noticed the recall of other power inverters similar to his but have different model numbers. The consumer opted not to call the fire department.
In June of 2016 NRG HOME SOLAR Co. installed solar panels on my homes roof. During the following winter after every snow storm snow would avalanche from my roof onto my front entrance without warning. Weight of the snow and speed and height of the fall was so dangerous that I could no longer use my front entrance. NRG after many calls and contacts refuses to correct this danger.
I had been using my solar inverter for 7-8 months and it all of a sudden start smoking and something inside started burning up. Before I could reach the unit to shut down all of the circuit breakers parts inside the unit started exploding and spark s shot out. Also a brief flash of flames and then I shut it off, shut off the solar panel input and the backup battery.
Product burned up, almost resulting in major fire
Lithium battery fire caused by a portable Aeiusny portable battery. The product was being charged but was not in use. The fire caused approximately $150,000 damage to the home.
