I am writing regarding the Toro cordless leaf blower, product number 51820. I have used it problem free for almost two years until the week of 8/8/2022. When holding down a turbo boost button the blower has, one Ive used many times before, it began to lightly shock my thumb. I read that humid conditions can lead to static shocks with leaf blowers so I stopped using it and tried later in the week, and it did the same thing any time I used the turbo boost button. Something was malfunctioning or defective, so I followed the manufacturers guidelines for an item under warranty and took it to a certified service dealership. After 2.5 weeks I got the blower back, was told that there was nothing wrong with the product, that plastic is not capable of conducting electricity so they are certain I could not have been shocked, and that it was likely static due to weather conditions which is outside of their control. I tried the product again when I got home and once again was shocked every time I tested the turbo boost. I called Toro customer service to discuss the issue, and lack of service provided for a defective product that is capable of causing harm, and after 20 minutes of describing the issue with the product, the means in which it was handled by their service team, and options available, the only other option available was to try a different service dealer. I tried one more authorized service dealership for Toro and was called the following day to be told they do not service electrical motors. I tried leaving a review on the Toro website to explain what has happened with this product, the way it delivers a shock, the difficulties obtaining service with the unit still under warranty, and the lack of options available or care provided by the Toro customer service line, but my post was moderated and deleted. I tried calling Toro again, and the only option once more was to take it to a dealer. I decided to report this product, as I believe that it is capable o
I was blowing out my workshop when, without warning, violently disintegrated shooting shards of red plastic throughout the shop. two if the shards hit my forearm drawing blood. an earlier model, TB180B was recalled on April 22, 2014.The recall number was 14-151.
On June 6, 2025, while using G. Remington mighty leaf blower to clear leaves from my back porch, the unit suddenly exploded after about five min of normal use. I was wearing safety glasses, but the blast caused several deep cuts on both my upper legs. My dog was also hurt very bad and terrified my 7 month old daughter who was nearby. The violent failure of this product posed an immediate danger to me and my family and could have resulted in far more serious injuries.
September 29, 2013 at 10:30 am, I was blowing the leaves out of my yard with my leaf blower, Troy-Bilt, electric blower/vacuum. It has only been used as a blower and not as a vacuum. It blew up on me. The whole side of the blower and half of the impeller came off and hit me in my thighs. It his with such force it caused huge bruising and a large cut. Thankfully I was wearing jeans. This product gave me no warning that anything was wrong before it blew. It did not shut off. I had to throw it down and run for the plug in and disconnect it.

I was using my Toro model 51599 Ultra Blower to clean grass from my side walk. I purchased the unit from Sears on 10/25/2010. The unit's electric plug fused to the extention cord it was plugged into. This present a clear electrical hazard and a potiential fire hazard for the homeowner using this item.
I own a Troy-Bilt Jet Leaf Blower. The blower stopped running after developing a sever rattle in the fan area. I took the fan cover off and discovered a broken Grade 5 bolt in the fan casing. The bolt had broken in the thread area and the other part of the broken bolt was in the hex adapter for the fan. Had the broken part not jammed the fan, the RPM that the fan blade was rotating could have caused a catastrophic Incident of flying debris. My contact to the Troy-Bilt customer service individual resulted in being told to buy replacement parts or take it to a service provider. There was no concern on the individuals part as to why the part failed. I have the broken part and pictures of the bolt.
I fell and suffered severe bruises because the air intake of the Craftsman brand electric blower, one of the brands of Stanley Tool Company, does not have a safety net, and part of my clothes were sucked into the space in an instant. I formally asked the manufacturer to design a safety net on the air intake of the product for the safety of consumers and to compensate me for the damage, but they replied that the wide opening is very dangerous to the user, and that the air rotation speed of the product cannot be affected for the safety of the user, and that it is difficult to compensate except for product replacement.
