Changelog
A dated record of real changes to how we source, verify, and publish CPSC NEISS, SaferProducts, and CPSC Recalls consumer-product-safety data, including data-refresh stages and methodology or presentation revisions. This list only carries changes we can point to; there is no entry for a day nothing meaningfully changed. See the editorial & corrections policy for how a specific page gets corrected.
-
Composite-score decomposition bar added to product pages
Each product page now shows a decomposition bar breaking the multi-dataset percentile-benchmarked composite safety score into its component parts, instead of presenting only the final number.
-
Multi-dataset percentile-benchmarked composite safety score
The composite safety score was rebuilt to percentile-benchmark across the full NEISS/SaferProducts/CPSC Recalls corpus rather than a single-dataset heuristic.
-
CPSC Recalls data refresh
Recall records were refreshed from CPSC Recalls (database stage stage:recalls-refresh applied). The corpus currently holds 9,944 recall records.
-
Editorial standards, corrections policy, and methodology footer added to data pages
Product, category, and statistics pages gained a standing footer linking the editorial standards and corrections policy, the methodology behind the figures, and a way to report a data error.
-
Base dataset verified and adopted
The live NEISS/SaferProducts/CPSC Recalls dataset (13 tables) was verified against the raw/seed JSON exports before the subsequent recall refresh -- all table counts matched exactly.
